Chief Justice Rehnquist Passes Away

For those of you who slept in today, as did Article III Groupie, this morning brings some major news: Last night, Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist passed away.

A3G will blog more about the Chief's passing when she returns to her home computer after the holiday weekend. In the meantime, if you're looking for news and views, click here for a comprehensive collection of links and articles, by Chris Geidner (a.k.a. Law Dork). Also, there are lots of pieces about Chief Justice Rehnquist in the UTR archives. See, e.g., here (for his birthday horoscope), here (for his clerks), here and here (for retirement speculation from earlier this year), here (for an analysis of his finances), and here (for a report on his tastes in fashion).

On behalf of the UTR readership, A3G sends her sympathies and condolences to the Rehnquist family, as well as to his friends and Supreme Court colleagues. William Rehnquist was truly one of the Court's greatest chief justices, and he will be deeply missed.

Any speculation on what happens to the Chief's 05 clerks, SDO's 05 clerks, and the Chief's 06 clerks, if he hired already?
